The PURITY cover

PURITY, in case you’ve found my site via googling “circus class” or “Space Dogs”, is my fourth book. It’s also my very first contemporary novel. Here’s what it’s about:

Before her mother died, Shelby promised three things: to listen to her father, to love as much as possible, and to live without restraint. Those Promises become harder to keep when Shelby’s father joins the planning committee for the Princess Ball, an annual dance that ends with a ceremonial vow to live pure lives — in other words, no “bad behavior,” no breaking the rules, and definitely no sex.

Torn between Promises One and Three, Shelby makes a decision — to exploit a loophole and lose her virginity before taking the vow. But somewhere between failed hookup attempts and helping her dad plan the ball, Shelby starts to understand what her mother really meant, what her father really needs, and who really has the right to her purity.

I’m pumped about this book. Really pumped. I actually wrote it ages ago, before I wrote SWEETLY– it was the first book I wrote as a full time author. And it’s FINALLY COMING OUT. SOON. APRIL 24TH! PUMPED!

Anyway. So, the cover. I love it. I really love it. And not just because it’s one of my favorite colors, or because it matches my blender. I love it because it’s seriously awesome, and I hope you agree. SO, without further ado:

  9. Oh, it’s great! I was going to say “It’s so cute!” which may have pejorative connotations in other circumstances, but with no disrespect meant, it’s ultra-cute. 😀

Would they be willing to style the spine to match your other LB books? That would be excellent, to have “Pearce” in the same script/placement on the spine as SISTERS RED and SWEETLY.

Eeee I’m so excited for you!

  10. Gorgeous! I love the simplicity – and the slight ‘Tiffany’-ness of it! I agree with Christin though – I’m a sucker for matching spines!

  19. I just read PURITY and reviewed it for a local bookstore with a “cover not final” sticker on the pale green cover… I just want to say, Jackson, I LOVED Purity (I wish it was longer!) and I think the final cover is great! 🙂 I do wish it contained some stuff from my favorite scenes (the Darth Vader cake, jumping off into the lake)…but I do think that the lock fits Shelby’s situations. I have loved and read your other books (SISTERS RED is a fave of mine), but I just want to say I LOVE, LOVE, LOOOVED Purity the most!!!! I hope you write more contemporary. (And maybe a spin off or companion with Ruby? Love that girl.)

  23. Dear Jackson,
Congratulations on your new book! And yes,I love the cover also!
Although this is the first time I’ve posted a comment on your website,I have watched nearly all of your vlog posts and have really enjoyed them, especially the one about Nikola Telsa.
One question:Is your name really Jackson Pearce or is it simply your pen name? You know:Mark Twain/Samuel Langhorn Clemens,Nellie Bly?Elizabeth Cochran etc.
Congrats again on your new book.
    An admirer,
    Daryl
